Introducing San Culberson

About Me

When I was around 4 or 5 my uncle decided that it would be a good idea to share with us (my brother, my sister, and myself) important Biblical scriptures. We sat down on the floor and looked up at him with great anticipation as he opened his well-worn Bible. "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." Before he could get to the next sentence, I raised my hand politely as I had been taught in pre-school. "Unka Bubba," (we’re from East, Texas) "where did God come from?"

My point is, even then, I was looking for the backstory.

As a reader, I have almost always been satisfied with the two or three lines written about the author on the back cover of the novel.

"San Culberson lives in Houston, Texas with her family" would be enough for me, but for those of you who hunger for more there are a few other things that I can tell you about myself that you may or may not find interesting.

I was born in Center, Texas near Lubbock and Possum Trot, but I grew up in Dallas and in Houston. I have a degree in psychology and have been a training coordinator for a foster care and adoption agency for a long time. I’m married and we have three sons.

In my spare time I like to write novels, write poetry, read, complain, laugh, eat good food, shop, watch Oprah, exercise sporadically, put my sons to bed, make plans and then cancel them, antagonize my husband, and sleep.

And one of my truest desires is for you to buy The Nick of Time, read it, love it, tell twenty friends about it and then they read it, love it, tell twenty friends about it, and so on and so on…
